German Chamomile (Matricaria Chamomilla)

German Chamomile is an ancient floral herb and is used for its calming, soothing, and anti-inflammatory traits.  Matthew Wood calls it the herb for, “babies of all ages” in the Earthwise Herbal vol.1.  Native to Europe, this herb has been naturalized in North America and is commonly grown in gardens.  German chamomile is often used interchangeably with Roman Chamomile, both are members of the asteraceae family.  In this tincture, the herb German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomila) is extracted in brandy.

• Assisting the body in calming the nervous system as a nervine and antispasmodic, especially in people who have a predisposition to emotional reactions to pain or illness.
• Supporting skin health for it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic properties.
• Supporting the digestive system as a carminative.
• Supporting the urinary tract as an anti-inflammatory.
• Supporting the respiratory system as an antispasmodic.
• Supporting a woman’s body during menstruation.
• Relaxing the body, especially muscles and inflammation as a nervine, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic.

Dosage

• This tincture is to be taken orally and may be taken plain under the tongue, or mixed into water, juice, or milk.
• Typically it is best to use only one or two drops of the tincture when taking for the first time, only increasing the dosage as needed or directed.
